"Church of the Holy Family"

La Sagrada Familia is a religious building honoring the holy family. Pope Benedict XVI inagurated the church on November 7th, 2010, making it a basilica. Sometimes, this massive building is refered to as a cathedral, just lacking a bishop's seat. La Sagrada Familia's main purpose is that of worship. However, it is a huge tourist landmark in Barcelone as well.

La Sagrada Familia has reached it's final stage of construction 132 years later. The new architect is Jordi Fauli. The massive building is scheduled to be completed in 2026, which is the 100th anniversary of the Gaudi's death.
